Everyday Words, 1

I've been starting to lose a little faith in myself lately.  I don't know if I'm brave enough to handle yet another year of obstacles.

23rd December, 2013:
"There you stand, ten feet tall, I will say "I knew it all along"
Your eyes, wider than distance
This life is sweeter that fiction."
— Taylor Swift, Sweeter Than Fiction
(I really don't listen to Taylor anymore, but I heard this on radio one day - and I felt a little comforted and warm inside.)

24th December, 2013:
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us.  It eluded us then, but that's no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms further... and one fine morning —
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

25th December, 2013:
"Goodnight and great love to you.  We see the same stars."
— Gregory Mallory

26th December, 2013:
"If you're awake at 4am, you're either lonely or in love.  I don't know which one is worse."
— Unknown

27th December, 2013:
"You keep telling me to be glad for what we had while we had it.
That the brightest flame burns the quickest.
Which means you saw us as a candle.
And I saw us as the sun."
— Iain S. Thomas, I Wrote This For You
("That the brightest flame burns the quickest"... this line just really hits home for me.)

28th December, 2013:
"This is the oldest you've been and the youngest you'll ever be, for every heartbeat a celebration."
— Every Heartbeat a Celebration, an art piece from the exhibition at school I've somehow remembered.

29th December, 2013:
"You've still got some fire left inside of you."
— Amanda, kindest words anyone has said to me in awhile.
